Situated on the Kransberg plateau in the malaria free Waterberg in Limpopo, you will find us halfway Vaalwater and Thabazimbi, 38km from the Marakele National Park gate. The route to the gate is a scenic journey passing several large game farms; the last 40km stretch is a dirt road, a 4x4 higher clearance vehicle is recommended, especially in the rainy season.
The Rest Camp is beautifully located on the edge of a large farm dam. With the Seven Sisters mountain range in the background and a view of the dam and wetland. The site allows for great sunsets, good bird watching and game viewing. Wildlife, including zebra, impala, bushbuck and giraffe, roam this area freely and the nearby wetlands are a haven for a variety of bird life with kingfishers being regular summer visitors.
There is only one Rest Camp on the 1,600 HA farm - suitable for up to 8 guests. Bring tents (off road trailers and caravans only) and come camp. Alternatively use the 2 newly added bedrooms (bring your own linen). The off-grid Rest Camp is ideal for both campers and non-campers to enjoy the bushveld together. With your booking you automatically reserve the entire camp and you will have exclusive use of the site. There is a neat thatched ablution facility with one toilet and one (hot and cold gas geyser) shower and dish washing area; a large under cover dining area, braai lapa and kitchenette with a 2 pit gas stove (no fridge/freezer). Both the undercover area and bedrooms have solar lighting.
If you are keen on some activity; there is a demarcated walking trail from the bridge; the dam offers some nice bass fishing, swimming and boating. Make sure to bring life vests and floating devices and to supervise children and poor swimmers at all times. The dam is 4 meters deep in the center.
Explore the farm on foot or mountain bike, game drives are available on request.
Apart from the campsite there are 2 cottages on the farm; the Forest Cottage for 4 at a distance of 2.5 km from the camp site and the Mountain Cottage for 2 at a distance of 5km from the forest cottage. Guests staying in the cottages may also visit the dam for some fishing and swimming.

★★★★★ We enjoyed our stay at Syringa Sands Bush Camp. It was extremely peaceful. The things that I would have wanted to be better was the condition of the dam should be better to be able to fish. The dam would need to be maintained by removing all the lilies and maintaining them. The Lapa was in bad condition. The rain just poured in and lots of wasp hives and plenty bats under the lapa. The grass should... Read more

★★★★★ We'll be back!! The seclusion afforded campers (and chalet users) is second to none; you are the only people in your area. There is a great dam to swim in with a boat provided for leisure rowing, we had a fabulous walk amongst the animals and the birdlife is abundant. The lapa came in very useful as a sheltered place to rest and eat whilst the ablutions were clean and spacious (and well designed).... Read more

★★★★★ The campsite is perfectly situated overlooking the dam with the beautiful surroundings of nature. Our children enjoyed going on walks and fishing at the dam. The bathroom facilities were clean and the boma was perfect for late night fires.
