In the foothills of the mighty Drakensberg mountains, amid rolling hills and beautiful gardens, Lastingham offers luxury accommodation at most reasonable prices in a tranquil country setting

Our country lodge and farm was named 'Lastingham' after a vicarage in North Yorkshire, by the Lidgett family, who immigrated to South Africa in 1849. The small village nearby is named Lidgetton.

Set in 40 acres of pastureland, the original family homestead built in 1912 has been restored to its full Victorian/Edwardian splendour by your hosts, Mike Macnab and Lynne Holding.

Lastingham Guest House and bed and breakfast gives you the opportunity to enjoy accommodation at one of the Natal Midlands' grand old rural homesteads. Scattered around the house in the lush gardens overlooking a dam, are individually appointed luxurious en-suite rooms, designed by Lynne drawing on her 14 years experience as an interior designer. We offer a fully inclusive wedding reception package that attends to every detail and your every need.

Wedding ceremonies are easily arranged at nearby chapels and churches (just a few minutes away) including the the famous Michaelhouse Chapel.

Lastingham Guest House has a resident masseuse that gives treatments in the privacy of your room.

Spa: Pre bookings are essential; we offer various, pamperpering packages, wellness packages and healing retreats.

Wedding Venues: We tailor design our weddings to suit your design and budget. Our country lodge caters for elopements and weddings up to 150 people. Larger weddings are held in marquees in our beautiful gardens. We offer a full coordination service.

Conference Venues: We can accommodate up to 20 delegates sharing, or 11 singles. Perfect for small companies strategic reviews or forward planning. We have whiteboards, Wi-Fi and internet access.

Romantic: We have two honeymoon suites; both have beautiful views of the Caversham valley, percale linen, and hand cut soap, a lounge area and a king-size bed. Extras like chocolates; sparkling wine etc can be added on request.

★★★★★ The first drive in impression is not pleasing. The steep loose stone walk to the lower room is unlit, difficult to walk on, hence need a torch. The Green room was spacious, comfortable, clean and warm. The dining room is too small, however, the food was good.
