About Dutchies on Grotto
Mere meters from the sea shore of Grotto beach in Hermanus is Dutchies, a delightful Dutch eatery. Guests are easily charmed by the select, Dutch inspired menu and the cosy atmosphere that the restaurant presents.
Dutchies abounds with atmosphere and guests love the personal attention of the restaurant owner mingling with visitors. In summer outdoor seats under umbrellas, soaking up the view is a must.
The Hollandse Biefstuk on offer for mains is a clear indication that this is proud to be Dutch establishment. Other menu items include Calamari, a Seafood platter and Chicken kebabs. The dessert menu is just a delight with African Dream which is Amarula ice-cream dipped in chocolate and crowned with a chocolate slab and Blueberry Cheesecake.
The restaurant charges a small fee for corkage.

My husband, I and many of our family and friends (as our guests) have been visiting Dutchies quite often since August 2014. We have always received well-prepared food and friendly reception and attention from the staff as well as the management

Most be one of the worst restaurants I have been to in years. 3 of us ordered margaritas which were so bad that all 3 of us sent them back after only one sip. The manager came over and got nasty and caused a scene in front of the entire restaurant and our kids. We eventually had to get up and leave. On top of this, the manager spent the entire time drinking alcohol and smoking in an environment that had mostly families with children - does the smoking law not abide in your restaurant? Think twice before visiting this place.

Probably one of the worst restaurants I have been to in years. Three of us had margarita's that were so bad that none of us could even down one sip. We sent them back and ordered something else. The manager then demanded we pay for them and got aggressive and made a scene in front of the whole restaurant. Was very embarrassing for us and extremely unprofessional for a restaurant manager. And don't get me started on the food. Manager also drank and smoke in the middle of the restaurants, most of which was filled with parents and kids. Avoid at all costs.
