About Copacabana Beach
Copacabana Beach is famous for the annual New Year's Eve festivities, attracting millions of partygoers. It has been the official venue of the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup and will be one of the four Olympic Zones during the 2016 Summer Olympics.
The beach stretches from Posto Dois, lifeguard watchtower Two, to Posto Seis, lifeguard watchtower Six. A dense strip of hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and apartments line the beachfront promenade. Over 40 bus routes service Copacabana along with 3 subway Metro stations, the Cantagalo, Siqueira Campos and Cardeal Arcoverde.
