The Outpost is a warm and welcoming self-catering guest farm set in the tranquil surroundings of lush Dullstroom, and strives to make your experience as comfortable as possible. We are situated about 15 km outside Dullstroom on the Machadodorp gravel road which is maintained on a regular basis and accessible for any sedan car.

Fisherman's is a romantic cabin nestled in the forest surrounded by naturally grown arum lilies, the sunrise over the dam provides a spectacular view. Die Stal is a cosy cottage (includes full DStv package), perfect for a family breakaway. Watch the lovely sunset view of the farm and farm animals (cattle and sheep).

Feathers is a homey unit with a view of the old stables, perfect for a couple looking for a relaxed stay. The Dam Huis is a large family unit which sleeps 6. Full DStv is provided, and the unit features two televisions, an indoor braai, and a pool table.

The Sara units are ideal for golfers, birthday parties and groups. Each unit sleeps 6 (in single beds). Separate ablution facilities are provided for gents and ladies. A fully equipped communal kitchen provides cutlery and crockery for guests, and there is a guest lounge with a fireplace, braai facilities (outdoor), a lapa area, games room with a pool table. These units overlook one of the large dams on the farm.

All units have fireplaces and braai area.Two large dams with jetties add to the ambiance of an early morning stroll or sunset walk, where you can see the abundant bird life and game viewing (blesbok, eland, springbok, ostriches, etc.). The critically endangered White-winged Flufftail and Wattled Crane are said to be found in this area. Use of the enclosed game area is for all guests. The acclaimed Highland Gate Golf and Trout Estate is a mere 15km from The Outpost.

Wedding Venues: The venue overlooks one of the farm’s trout dams and has a spectacular view of the surrounding farms. For wedding couples there is a choice of either an indoor or outdoor forest chapel, both overlooking our trout dams.

Conference Venues: The venue is ideal for corporate events requiring presentation facilities. For teambuilding events we have a variety of activities with weekend accommodation available. Catering services are available on request.

Family friendly: The Outpost is ideal for families who need a break from the hustle bustle of city life. There is an abundance of bird life the critically endangered White-winged Flufftail and Wattled Crane are said to be found in this area.Buck and farm animals.

Romantic: The solitary Fisherman's cabin nestled in the wattle forest provides the perfect scene for a romantic getaway. Listen to the nesting fish eagles with a view of the early morning mist settling on the dam.
