About Siloam Village

Siloam Village is situated at Lake Gariep, a water sport enthusiast’s paradise, stretching 90 km in length and 374 km² in size. The lake offers sailing, jet skiing and power boating.

We are situated on the Eastern Shore of Lake Gariep, at Oviston Nature Reserve, not inside Gariep Dam. We are approximately 30 minutes from the highway. The Gariep Dam is located inside the Nature Reserve, and access to the shores of the dam is through the reserve gate. Guests can however walk from our establishment to the dam. Access through the nature reserve is free.

There are no nearby restaurants, however meals can be arranged at Siloam Village with prior notice. Dinner is at a cost of R 95.00 per person, Breakfast is R 55.00 per person and lunch is R 60.00 per person. There is a small shop opposite Siloam Village that sells very basic necessities and groceries.

The remarkable Gariep Dam in the Karoo is the biggest catchment of fresh water in South Africa. Those seeking a more tranquil and laid-back break will find Siloam to be a great escape that is reasonably priced. If your ideal holiday is a combination of lazing around, fishing and exploring a nature reserve, this is the place to stay. We have boats for hire if you want to explore the dam or fish.

It was a wonderful experience, arriving at the resort and seeing all the other animals such as 2 camels and a donkey. Our 2 dogs enjoyed the freedom and was wary of getting close to the other animals. The rooms was luzerious and clean and the kitchen was well enough equipped . We could therefore sterilise and prepare baby bottles without hassle. We would have loved some complimentary coffee and tea in the room though since we ran out of coffee and the local shops was closed upon arrival.
