About Puschka Farm

Puschka is an organic farm situated in the beautiful Naauwpoort Valley, in the foothills of the majestic Magaliesberg Mountain Range, with the Hex River winding its way through the valley and farm. The farm offers two lovely self-catering units; Puschka House and Puschka Cottage. They are ideal for romantic couples, families and friendly get-togethers.

Puschka Cottage is nestled in the bush on the side of a hill and has its own swimming pool. Perfect for a romantic getaway for two people or for a family of six, this thatched cottage has a large living room with a fireplace kitchen, a shared full bathroom and a separate toilet. Three bedrooms lead off to a small sitting area with an anthracite stove for winter evenings, as well as a TV with DStv and a DVD player. Guests can enjoy a lovely braai outside and cool down in the large swimming pool.

Puschka House is located on the opposite side of the river, amongst large gum trees giving it a typical South African farmhouse feel. Slightly bigger, the house can sleep a family or a group of eight people. The four bedrooms lead to the living area and share two bathrooms and a separate toilet. The large living and dining area has a fireplace and is equipped with a TV with DStv and a DVD player. The large kitchen has a wood burning stove for cold winter nights. Guests can relax on the stoep while enjoying a braai or cool down in the plunge pool. Please note that pets are not allowed and cell phone reception is poor.

While visiting Puschka Farm, why not climb up to the top of the hill for incredible views and sunsets or enjoy activities like horse riding and tree hopping on a Canopy Tour. Guests can enjoy a special dinner at the famous Mount Grace Hotel. For birdwatchers, the farm has a prolific bird life and you may even offer the chance to see some of the local game such as kudu, jackal, bushbuck, warthog and leopard which are rarely seen. Guests can go for walks, go mountain biking or view the animals on the farm such as nguni cattle, boer goats, chickens, turkeys, geese and horses. For something different, join the "Cooking in the Countryā€¯ classes which take place in Puschka House. It focuses on cooking, eating and fun. Guests are guaranteed to have a good time whether you come along and join a group of like-minded people or whether you make up your own group. This is an ideal way to break down barriers in a group and do some team building.

We really enjoyed staying at Puschka Farm. We had such a relaxed weekend, surrounded by nature and animals. The splash pool is beautiful and refreshing, the hikes and picnics were amazing, the people so friendly and helpful. I can really recommend this venue if you are looking for a relaxed and secluded weekend out of Joburg.

We had a lovely midweek stay. The house is basic, but comfortable and has all you need. Our dogs enjoyed the big lawn and walks on the farm. The staff came to check in once a day to see if there is anything we need, and we even got a picnic basket delivered with fresh muffins and treats. The lovely fireplace kept us warm and cost. We will be back.

The rooms were a bit gloomy. Could do with some newer, brighter furniture and accessories

If you feel like the hustle and bustle of the city is overwhelming and you need to reconnect with nature and love this is the place to go. Loved every minute of our stay. Lovely hosts! Fur-kids loved the freedom but a definite highlight was the off the grid system of being self sustained, romance of a fire and connecting with the beauty of nature at its best!
