About Glenrock Game & Trout

The farm Glenrock is mainly run as a beef enterprise. The farm is situated in the hills above Rietvlei, between Mooi River and Glenrock.

There are six fully equipped, self-catering units that are serviced every morning. The farm is well known for its peaceful environment and is ideal for family getaways. Catch bass or trout in one of our dams, take a leisurely walk or bring your mountain bike along.

There are lots of game and birds on the farm to view by car, bicycle or on foot. We have eland, blesbuck, mountain reedbuck, duiker, oribi, zebra, serval cats and otters. Bird species include the secretary bird, wattled-, crested- and blue cranes, various raptors, Stanley's bastard, storks in summer, quinea fowl, francolins and various kinds of ducks. There are a few tame animals on the farm that you can feed.

The lapa is used as a dining room as well as conference centre and can seat up to 100 people. It is ideal for small functions like weddings, birthday parties and family reunions.

Family friendly: We have an animal farm, a jungle gym, as well as a zip line ( This must be booked in advance)

Loved the log cabin and fire place. Need to do some general maintenance (tlc) to cabins. The steps to the loft room are very steep and narrow making them non-child friendly. On arrival in winter time, when out of office hours, maybe put a bag of wood outside the cabins as it is very cold without a fire. Remove the scruffy wire enclosures from in front of log cabins, ruins the beautiful view from your patio. The staff could be a little more friendly and interactive with guests. Small problems/issues were dealt with and resolved quickly which made things more pleasant.

Glenrock Game and Trout is a rustic but clean and comfortable venue. We enjoyed the quiet walks and gentle fishing. The best aspect was that there is no cell phone reception and work could not get hold of me allowing a true break and quality time with the company.

The grass was so long around the dams it was difficult to fish, the water was low (not their fault) but full of weeds, so not good for fishing.... and that was the reason we went there.

Our family used Glenrock to stretch our KZN trip. Very quiet and slept comfortably.
