About Far Niente Beachfront Guesthouse
Far Niente Beachfront Guesthouse is an historical landmark on Wilderness Beach, offering the ultimate beach holiday experience. It’s the ideal one-stop, self-catering, sand sauntering, sunshine sizzling, salty swimming, sundowner sipping, sea-sound slumbering, beach holiday.
With its stunning view over the sea, and only a few steps down to the sea-washed sands of the beach, it is the ideal holiday spot for people of all ages. The charming house, which reflects the history and loving care of five generations, will make you feel totally at home the minute you enter its doors. Abby Ward and his wife Glenda, who live on the property in a separate apartment, are there to welcome you and ensure that your stay is comfortable, relaxed and carefree.
Far Niente generally sleeps a maximum of eight guests, but there’s always room for that extra one. It has three double bedrooms, two with en-suite bathrooms, and a TV room which can also be used as a bedroom with twin bunks. In addition there is a separate full bathroom and a guest toilet. The house is fully furnished, even the beach towels are provided. Children of all ages are welcome.
It features a relaxed open-space central living area with a large, fully equipped kitchen. This living room opens through a large glass sliding door onto a sea-facing patio and terrace. A few steps lead down from the terrace to the beach. The sea views, especially at sunrise and sunset are magnificent, and can be enjoyed even from behind the kitchen counter. General facilities include a dishwasher, washing machine, tumble-dryer, ironing equipment, and basic satellite TV, as well as a baby's camp cot, bath and high chair.
The house is available as an exclusive unit, ideal for a family or group. Alternatively, it is also available as two separate units, each with its own entrance and access to the terrace. Parking is provided on the premises in the shade of four ancient Milkwood trees. Far Niente has been awarded a 3 Star grading from the Tourism Grading Council of South Africa.
Beach: We are right on the front sand dune of the Wilderness beach, with our own private access to the beach itself via a few steps down from our front sea-facing terrace.
Family friendly: Far Niente was originally built by, and for a large family way back in 1933, and it still retains its nature as a home from home, catering for for people and children of all ages.
Unit 1 and 2 can be rented together an exclusive unit, ideal for a family or group, for R1,200 to R3,000 per day, depending on the season. Alternatively, it is also available as two separate units, each with its own entrance and access to the terrace.
